Skadalon, the Grek word for offense, is also the word from which we get the English word scandal. Skadalon originally referred to bait in a trap. Like an animal caught in a snare, often our pride and self-righteousness hide the bait that lures us into offense. When something offensive comes up, do we choose to engage, or do we carry on with our lives?
